Interview Question Framework
Pick a topic — general / child welfare / financial / journalism — and get a structured open-ended question framework to interview a human source. Educational tool, not a data lookup.
Educational only. Bases child-welfare framework on ChildFirst® / APSAC forensic-interviewing standards. Always defer to trained professionals for actual investigations.
General-purpose interview
Open-ended questions for any first interview with a human source. Keep questions short, let them talk, follow up with their words.

Establish ground truth
- Walk me through what happened, in your own words, from the beginning.
- Where were you when this happened?
- Who else was there?
- What time of day was it?
- How did you come to be in that situation?
Sensory detail (anchors memory)
- What did you see?
- What did you hear?
- What did you do next?
- What were you thinking at that moment?
Test recall vs reconstruction
- How sure are you about that detail?
- Are you remembering this directly, or is this what someone told you afterwards?
- When did you first tell anyone about this? Who?
- Have you written about it anywhere — texts, emails, journal?
Probe motive and incentives
- Why are you talking to me about this?
- What outcome are you hoping for?
- Has anyone asked you to share this story?
- What happens to you if this becomes public?
